Tag a Release

The box is pre-filled with all tags the release already has — edit or remove them, and add new ones from the acceptable vocabulary. Matching tags are suggested as you type; separate tags with commas (press , Enter or Tab to accept a suggestion), and pick your suggestion style with the Suggestions toggle (remembered). Saving makes the release's tags exactly what's in the box: tags you remove are deleted (any source), tags you keep retain their origin, and new tags are added as “manual”. Note: auto-derived facets (year/group/type/…) you delete may be re-added later by the enrichment jobs.

Tag a Release — help

Hand-tag a single release with a type-ahead comma box backed by the acceptable vocabulary.

Find a release by name or rid and select it. The search results show how many tags each release already has, e.g. (14 tags) or (untagged).

The Tags box is pre-filled with every tag the release already has (shown as vocabulary labels where known). Edit or remove them and add new ones. Autocomplete suggests only the tags mapped to this release's type (set up on Release Types / Assign Tags); separate tags with commas (, Enter or Tab to accept). Click a chip's × to drop it. You can still type any other term in full and commit it with a comma.

Suggestions toggle — choose the style (remembered per browser): Dropdown list shows a ranked menu (label or slug, incl. mid-string matches; ↑/↓ to move, Esc to dismiss); Inline completes the best prefix match right in the box like a browser address bar (→ or Enter to accept, Delete/Esc to reject).

Chips show blue for tags in the vocabulary and amber for terms not in it (auto-derived facets like year/group/type show amber — that's expected).

In the Dropdown, vocabulary tags already on the release are shown highlighted green with a ✓ and “on release” — so you can see at a glance what's applied; picking one is a no-op (no duplicate).

Save makes the release's tags exactly what's in the box: removed tags are deleted (any source), kept tags retain their origin, and new tags are added with source “manual”. Auto-derived facets (year, group, type, …) you delete may be re-added later by the enrichment jobs.
